Academic Policies

Attendance Requirements
• No student shall be allowed to attend a class if his name does not appear in the official class list. The official class list shall be issued one day after the last day of payment.
• The school bell shall be sounded twice before each period. A long bell signals the start of the class. Two short bells shall be rung ten minutes before the end of the period.
• A student shall be considered late if he arrives within fifteen (15) minutes of the official time (after the long bell0. Three instances minutes before the end of the period.
• A student shall be marked absent if he reports beyond fifteen minutes of the official time of the class for record purposes. This shall not prevent him though from attending the class and participating in class activities.
• Student shall be required to wait for their professor in the classroom for atleast ten (10) minutes for every hour of classes if no prior instructions from the professor are given.
• General or special assemblies, ceremonies or functions that require the attendance of a given section shall take the place of classes which otherwise would have been held. Absence from such activity shall be given Unauthorized Withdrawal (UW).
• A student who is given a grade of UW shall still be allowed to attend classes and participate in classroom activities. Although, UW is definitely a failing grade.

Retention Policies

WARNING
• A warning shall be given to student who have outstanding failures up to 12 units at the end of a given semester.
• Outstanding failures shall be counted from failing grades unauthorized withdrawal ( UW) and lapsed incomplete ( INC) grades. Subject with INC grades which are taken again and passed shall no longer be counted under outstanding failures.
• A written warning shall be issued during the issuance of grade slips at the end of the semester.
• The warning status shall be lifted once the student has re – enrolled and passed all failed subjects.

PROBATION
• Probationary status shall be given to students who have incurred outstanding failures in excess of 12 units at the end of a given semester and to student who have committed serious infractions of the rules and regulations of the Colegio.
• Outstanding failures shall including failing grades. Unauthorized Withdrawal (UW), and lapsed Incomplete grades. Subjects with Incomplete grades which are taken again and passed are no longer counted under outstanding failures.
• A written notice of probation shall be issued and distributed during the issuance of grade slips at the end of the semester.
• Student on probation shall be subjected to the following restrictions:
- They shall be allowed a maximum of 18 units in a given semester.
- They shall not incur any additional failures, including failures in non-academic subjects.
- They shall not be found guilty of violations of the student manual where the sanction imposed is suspension.
- Failure to comply with these restriction shall be grounds for non-admission.
- The probation status shall be lifted once the student has reduced the total units of outstanding failures to 12 or less.
- Disciplinary probation shall be lifted if no offense has been committed during the period covered by the probationary agreement.

DISMISSAL/ NOT TO BE READMITTED (NTBR)
A student be issued transfer credentials at the end of the semester for any of the following reasons:

• Violation of the provisions of academic or disciplinary probation.
• Failure of more than 12 units in a single semester.
• Violation of the disciplinary provision of the single handbook resulting is dismissal.
• Accumulated failures exceeding 24 units (outstanding failures that have been re-taken and passed are still counted as accumulated failures.
