Semestral Honors
Superior scholastic performance is recognized through the publication of the Dean’s Honor List at the beginning of the succeeding semester. Certificates of outstanding academic performance are given to students who qualify for honors during the Recognition Day.

To qualify for the Dean’s Honor List, a student should:

  • Carry at least a regular load prescribed for the semester.
  • Not have a grade below 85% in any academic and theology subjects.
  • Not have withdrawn in any subject enrolled.
  • Not have been subjected to any disciplinary action

    Semestral honors shall be as follows: 
    FIRST HONORS: 97 – 100%
    SECOND HONORS: 94 – 96.9%
    THIRD HONORS: 91 – 93.9%


Graduation Requirements

  • Only those students who have completed all requirements in their curriculum are eligible for graduation.
  • Candidates for graduation may file their application for graduation within two (2) months after the beginning of the second semester.
  • Only students who submitted their application for graduation on time shall be included in the list of graduates.

    Graduation Honors

    General Guidelines:
    1. Must finish the course according to the number of years indicated in the program of studies.
    2. Must carry the prescribed load at any given semester
    3. Must earn all credits in the Colegio
    4. Must not have incomplete grades
    5. Must not have withdrawn any enrolled subject
    6. Must not be a transferee

    Graduates may be awarded with the following graduation honors:
    Summa Cum Laude
    Awarded to graduates with a general average of 97–100% with no grade below 93% in any subject
    Magna Cum Laude
    Awarded to graduates with a general average of 94–96.9% with no grade below 89% in any subject
    Cum Laude
    Awarded to graduates with a general average of 91–93.9% with no grade below 85% in any subject

    With Academic Distinction
    A graduate is given this award if his general average is 91% and above, but he:
    1. Must finish the course according to the number of years indicated in the program of studies
    2. Must carry a regular load of at least 18 units. (Graduating students may be exempted, if warranted.)
    3. Must not have withdrawn any enrolled subjects
    4. Theology subjects are included in the computation of grades.
    5. He has a grade lower than 80%
    6. He has completed at least 75% of the credits required for graduation in Letran.


Other Distinctions and Awards 

  • For every major course or area, a Special Award for Academic Excellence may be given to the graduating student with the highest academic rating in that particular area and all these subjects are taken in the Colegio.
  • A deserving graduating student may be given any of the following special awards based primarily on his excellent performance outside of his academic achievement: 

    Leadership Award

    General Guidelines:
    1. No failing grade
    2. Not subjected to any disciplinary action
    3. Good moral character
    4. Should have taken at least 75% of his academic units in the Colegio

    Specific Guidelines:
    1. Officer of any recognized student organization
    2. Active participation in school activities
    3. Exemplary performance as an officer
    4. Active participation in his organization 

    Loyalty Award
    This is given to the graduate who has continuously studied in Letran.

    GOLD MEDAL
    – the candidate has continuously studied in Letran from Preparatory to College.
    SILVER MEDAL – the candidate has continuously studied in Letran from at least First Year High School to College.
