The Home Study Program

The Home Study Program (HSP) is a curricular offering that caters to boys and girls of school age who, for one reason or another, cannot be physically present in the classroom every day.

With the use of Self-Learning Modules, this program allows the learner to study at home at his own pace and time. As soon as he / she is ready, he/ she may report to school for the checking of the accomplished modules and for examinations that are intended to validate his performance in his home study. Upon completion of the modules for the elementary course, the learner will be eligible for graduation.

The Home Study Program (HSP) enrolls the learner at the Colegio just like any other student in the regular program. He is given a pre-test or diagnostic test to determine his level of competencies. He reports to school twice or thrice a week The HSP Coordinator
provides him with Self-Learning Modules(SLM) which he studies / accomplishes at his own time / pace. Schedules are arranged by the HSP coordinator and Learning Facilitator for enrichment activities such as discussion, film/ video/ slide viewing, laboratory, library or computer work. Provisions for the use of other facilities are likewise made available for him. During this two to three- day consultation, the learner is given oral and written validating examinations on the modules which he has accomplished.. If inadequacies are determined, the learner is given additional / supplementary sets of exercises for enhancement and mastery. The learner is given a numerical grade after accomplishing each module.

The learning process is a kind of developmental motion that the learner has to undertake as he goes from one learning activity to the other. He can go slow or fast depending on his capacity as influenced by his personal disposition and other factors or surrounding variables.

Upon completion of the requirements prescribed for the course based on a checklist of Learning Skills for all subjects, the learner will be eligible for graduation.

Admission Requirements for HSP
• Adequate school records (Form 137, 138) proof of latest attendance to a school
• Birth Certificate
• Baptismal Certificate
• 3 ID colored pictures (1 X 1)
