Business Ethics (3 Units)
Every business organizations operates in a social environment. An awareness of the business firm’s obligation to society in general and to the business stockholders in particular is of primary importance to the businessman and public manager if they are to remain true to their Christian ideals. It is the purpose of this course to sharpen this awareness.
Management Science & Statistics with Computer Application (3 Units)
The course is essentially designed to cover the various statistical tools relevant to the analysis and interpretation of business problems including the applications of management models such as linear programming, algorithms, simulation, queuing, network models and market analysis.
Managerial Accounting (3 Units)
The course provides the skills to understand the fundamentals of accounting and how to use accounting information in decision making. The financial accounting aspect of the study deals with basic principles and concepts comprising the accounting system, its terminologies and guiding principles in the preparation of financial statements. The second aspect of the study discusses the nature and use of accounting information. The students will be trained in basic accounting, budget construction, financial analysis and forecasting.
Business Research Methods (3 Units)
This course covers the application of scientific research methods in business. It includes methods in questionnaire design and other research instruments; formulating a research design and determining the methods of implementing the design; methods of collecting; assembling analyzing and interpreting evidence and deriving hypothesis and conclusions; methods and forms of communicating research studies, guidelines for evaluating research studies. To acquaint the students on some statistical tools in research.

Human Factor in Business (3 Units)
The course is an introduction to the human side of organizations covering derivations from individual psychology, interpersonal relations, group dynamics and organizational theory. The emphasis is on the implications of theoretical notions and research findings from psychology and sociology relevant to problems faced by managers and consultants to organizations. The course affords an opportunity for the personal learning of managerial skills as well as the intellectual understanding of human behavior through exercises, case studies, class discussions, and readings on such subjects such as motivation, perception, influence, interpersonal communication, leadership and control.
Marketing Management (3 Units)
This is the decisional approach to the formulation and implementation of marketing programs and strategies through the analysis of market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive structures in order to achieve marketing objectives. The course gives substantial, emphasis on the economic, social and legal implications of marketing decisions. The overriding consideration is to provide superior values to consumers better than competitors, to meet organizational goals.
Financial Management (3 Units)
The course provides understanding of the financial management function in a business enterprise. The student will develop skills in evaluating the firm’s investment, financing and dividend decisions to achieve corporate objectives. The course focuses on financial analysis as a tool in financial decision making, liquidity management, financial projection, time value of money and management of long-term capital structure of the company.
Production Management (3 Units)
This course covers the functions of planning, supervision and control in the production of goods and services. It dwells initially on the principles of production, method analysis, work measurement, wage incentives, plant layout, materials handling and quality control as applied to real life cases.
Managerial Economics (3 Units)
This course deals with selected topics in both environmental economics and economics of the firm. It examines factors that are related to national income, its components, and then variations in order to develop in the students a deeper insight into the dynamic mechanisms in determining the level of economic activity which influences environment.
Personnel Management (3 Units)
This course deals with the comprehensive approach in the allocation and utilization of human resources in organization. It has as its objective the full development of the organization’s human resources. It covers the three areas in Personnel Administration, namely: acquisition, training, maintenance and utilization of human resources.
Entrepreneurship (3 Units)
This course examines the various factors affecting the practice of entrepreneurship as well as the reasons for being entrepreneurs. It covers the motivations and development of entrepreneurs and the cooperative study of different entrepreneurship in the Philippine setting. It also discusses the risk-ranking among entrepreneurs.
Business Policy (3 Units)
This subject deals with the study of the functions and responsibilities of general management. It integrates the various skills learned in other functional areas of management and trains students to analyze and make decisions from a general manager’s point of view. The focus of the study is the concept of strategy - its formulation, implementation and monitoring which involves analysis of problems of business, attitudes and skills of policy authors together with variables within and outside the organization. |

The course attempts to expose the students to the basic function of portfolio management and the general and specific problems in the placement of funds, it includes investment objectives, determination of risks, classification and characteristics of securities, background on financial and capital markets, security evaluation, portfolio planning and structuring and investment banking.
Corporate Planning (3 Units)
This course covers the systematic approach to management concepts that are partially or not even utilized by the business and public sectors. It is intended for those who aspire for higher management positions whose eventual tasks is to handle problems at the top corporate level.
The course develops guidelines in formulating the short-term and long-term objectives of organizational units as well as of the entire company. Management Control & Information System (3 Units)
This course seeks to examine the firm’s organizational objective and strategies in terms of a workable control and information system. It covers the following topics: Overall Control Process; Planning and Control Structure; Feedback Process; Information System and Automated Data Processing.
Legal Aspects (3 Units)
This course covers the multi-layered legal ramifications affecting business from its organization, operations and dissolution. Labor problems, negotiations, mergers and consolidations are also integrated.
Marketing Research (3 Units)
The course is geared toward giving the students the opportunity to learn various concepts and research findings related to consumer behavior and developing their skills at using marketing research. Formulation of the research design including the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the data gathering process and interpretation of findings are given due consideration. The research areas covered are: consumer, motivation, products, advertising, sales promotion, market analysis, sales, dealers and competitors. All these are meant to improve the quality of marketing decisions.
Philippine Business Environment (3 Units)
The course is designed to study existing political, social, economic and other environments and their influences on the managers, entrepreneurs and consultants in their business planning and decision making. |
