Departmental Objectives

Historical Overview
In 1974, Director P. Ramon C. Reyes established the Graduate School for Business Administration with only the MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA) program as the department’s initial program offering. Meanwhile, Dean Theodoro T. Abrigo, in 1980, instituted the MBA SPECIAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (MBA-SMP), a first-rate graduate program designed solely for business executives, managers and leaders.

Subsequently, the DOCTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM was launched in 1995 under the Deanship of Dr. Perfecto Panuelos . The DBA program aimed at intensifying the theoretical knowledge of MBA graduates and in further sharpening their managerial skills.

Distinguished university professors and practitioners had become part of the teaching and learning development of the Graduate School. The department had likewise produced graduates who had become eminent in their respective fields of interests and who had become successful business leaders.

Currently, the department offers THREE graduate programs, the MBA-Regular, the MBA-SMP and the DBA. The varied programs’ curricula had been revised and were approved by the Commission on Higher Education on September 2005.

Objectives

The Graduate School of Business Administration of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran seeks to develop globally competitive Christo-centric industry and national leaders and professionals. Specifically, the Department aims to:

1. Require a program of instruction of spiritual growth and development integrated into the subject areas of the Graduate School curriculum.

2. Gear the curricular programs towards strong research-based studies that measure up to accreditation and global standard of graduate education.

3. Maintain and sustain a Graduate School faculty and staff professional and developmental programs sensitive to the academic and non-academic needs of students through retraining/retooling, research and professional affiliation.
