Students from the eleven programs of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences trooped to the Blessed Antonio Varona Gymnasium last July 30 to share fun at The Colors of CLAS, the very first soiree for the whole CLAS. Wearing their program’s designated hue, CLAS students literally had a colorful party. Advertising wore maroon; Broadcasting was in white; Communication came in purple; Digital Arts donned orange; Food Technology and Nutrition & Dietetics were garbed in green; I.T. wowed in hot pink; Journalism was vivid in red; Legal Management looked earthy in brown; Political Science put on blue; and Psychology sported yellow.
According to Farid Salimpour, Communication Arts Senior and producer of the event, The Colors of CLAS aimed to foster camaraderie among students of various disciplines. “In the past years, acquaintance parties of the different programs were celebrated separately. The Colors of CLAS was meant to bring CLAS students together so that they can bond and have fun,†he said.
The event showcased rousing performances from CLAS students, including upbeat songs from the very entertaining Teatro Divas. Amusing games drew laughter, and a dance showdown drove most of the party goers to show off their dancing skills.
“There were lots of cheers and jeers, all in the spirit of fun. Many told me that they can hardly wait for the next soiree,†said Salimpour.
