Twenty-three entries from students from the Institute of Communication (IComm) of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were chosen as finalists for the 34th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) to cement Letran's reputation as the most awarded communication school in the country.
The Letran finalists for the Best Student Public Service Ad-TV Award are: "Hiling" by John Kimberly Nicolas; "Ang Bahay N'ya" by John Paul Samson; "Busy Bee"by Maureen Santos; and "Black Light" by Lawrence Arvin Sibug.

Vying for the Best Student Public Service Ad-Radio Award are: "Takot" by Nicole Czarina Lambiquit and Rustom Mangune; "Mom" by Erika Dar; "Lahat Posible" by Marla Jane Inducal; "Your World" by Rovi Anne Mortell; and "Sino ba si Hesus" by Melissa Anne Rodriguez.
Also, the finalists for the Best Student Public Service Ad-Print Award are: "Balanced" by Cyrus Blanco; "Kubyertos" by Hazel Corpuz; "Thumbs Up" by Kathryn De Guzman; "Ako Naman, Inay" by Brian Endaya; "S.O.S." by Irene Fernandez; "Christ in You" by Camille Ortigerra; and "Sorbetes" by Carla Pruna.
Adding to Letran's haul are the finalists for the Best TV Production Award. They are: "A Mother's Love" directed by Mark Averilla; "Pamilyang Buo, Magulang ko'y Lumpo" directed by Akiko Lindo; "Tawag" directed by Michael Tuaño; and "AGOS" directed by Dean Airo Dancel.
Finally, the finalists for the Best Short Film Award are: "CONVOY" by Lawrence Arvin Sibug, Farid Salimpour, Gloria Teodosio, Angelica Lopez, Aljon Tablante,
Rovi Anne Mortell, Joy Chiong, April Dizon, Miguel Villanueva, Lubelyn Mangay-Ayam, Angelica Garin, and Paolo Angelo Santos; "LAST MANNY" by Ronald Hubilla, Jody Margaret Tutanes, John Kimberly Nicolas, Joshua Sorreda, Johanna Erika Dar, Epifanio Ocampo III, Marie Joyce Fangonillo, Geon Du, Elizabeth Bonifacio, Micah San Diego, Vernie Fuentes, and Micah Santiago; and "ON THE WAY" by Sharon May Mesias, Sarah Pauline Paloma, Justin Carlo Ponti, Jesika Clarise Zapanta, Angeline Naga, Karren Ano-os, Janelle Dana Salaver, James Christian Dionisio, Crystel Joy Selidio, Keisha Anne Labutay, Roemart Tamayo, Alyza Jireh Mesina, and Ann Jellie Salting.
"If my memory serves me correctly, this is the most number of nominees that we got since we started submitting entries to the CMMA. I think you can just imagine how excited, not necessarily anxious, but of course there's hope in all of us [IComm] that we would get all the trophies in all the five student categories," said IComm director Asst. Prof. Norberto Bana III.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran won four trophies out of the five student categories in last year's CMMA.
