First and second year students of the BS Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) and BS Food Technology (BSFT) programs under the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, in cooperation with the Philippine Association of Nutritionist (PAN) Psi Gamma Chapter of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, launched their first event for the school year titled "The Food Bazaar" at the Letran Catwalk on Sept. 13.
"Partly it is a fundraising event because it is [the] first time we have the organization that's why we still don't have funds, but apart from [that], our main objective is to build camaraderie among the nutrition students," said Asst. Prof. Marian Tesalona, BSND and BSFT program coordinator, adding,

"Also, we would like the entire Letran community to be aware that there is already an [BSND and BSFT] organization in order for future students to join the organization."
The students served desserts like carrot cake, chocolate cake, and butterscotch; savory items like siopao and ensaymada; and other treats like pies, fruit shakes, tacos and chocolate fountain, all sold for under 50 pesos.
According to Tesalona, the event is organized by the very first set of officers of the party, headed by Charlemaine Reyes, with the help of two other BSND faculty members, Hannah Baraerro and Chef Mon Laurente.
"Hopefully, this would not be the last activity. We'll be having more, except that we are still new, and this is their first time they're handling an activity. We are still trying to get a hand on it, to learn more, and to get-along with the activities of the Colegio," Tesalona stressed.
PAN Psi Gamma Chapter is anchored with professional nutritionists and dietetics and also is included in the PAN student chapters that aim to introduce future nutritional professionals to the work that lies ahead.
