Loren Brighan Laceste won the final round and topped the juniors division in the Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship-Tuguegarao leg at Brickstone Mall’s Activity Center in Tuguegarao last July 8. He swept the first four games in the seven-round tournament and came out the solo winner in the 20-and-under category.

Laceste was also team bronze medalist in standard chess, team silver medalist in blitz and team bronze in rapid chess during the 9th Asean Age Group Chess Championships held in Danang Vietnam last June 9 to 18.
