Erickson Joseph Ramos and Eden Canlas ranked 5th in the 13th Nestea Beach Volley competition, “Beat the Sun with a Fun,” at Boracay Beach Resort from May 6 to 10.

To qualify for the final elimination round, Letran got the 2nd spot among 14 teams in Luzon elimination with Far Eastern University and San Beda College at 1st and 3rd places, respectively. There were nine teams competing in the finals, six of which came from Visayas and Mindanao.

University of San Jose-Recoletos seized the first game over Letran but in the second game the Knight-spikers overwhelmed San Beda, winning 15-9 in the third set. Another two-set win over University of Mindanao got Letran in the third game while the fourth game win of University of Tawi-Tawi dropped the Knights to rank five.

Coach Brian Esquibel said he would prepare the Knights for more training for the next Nestea Beach Volley league. He added that the spikers are also preparing for the opening of the FC Turibio Cup to be hosted by University of the East and for the upcoming 85th National Collegiate Athletic Association to be hosted by San Beda where the Knights men’s team is the defending champion.
