The Colegio’s athletes scored in different events this summer.
Junior basketball players were the team champion in Palarong Pambansa in Tacloban City from April 26 to May 2. In the team were Glenn Khobuntin, Jarelan Tampus, Jeremy Roxas, Doane Crisologo, Jose Lorenzo and Earvin Maravilla, headed by Coach Elmer Latonio and assistant coaches Jerry Gonzales and Ranniel Cabrera.
Meantime, chessers Jodilyn Fronda, Chery Ann Mejia and Roland Perez, became the champion team, also in Palarong Pambansa, while National Capital Region team head coach Carlito Rojo won the third place in lawn tennis.
The beach volleyball men’s team ranked fifth in the nationwide finals of the Nestea Beach Volleyball held at Boracay Beach Resort from May 6 to 10.
Incoming senior high school student Raine Reyes is participating in the Asean Youth Track and Field competition in Singapore.
Coach Mike Inoferio, sports coordinator of the Athletics Department, said all these serve as “[good] training and preparation of players for the upcoming 85th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association which opens on June 27.
