Fifty grade two pupils received their first communion at the Letran Chapel on the feast of the Immaculate Conception last December 8, 2009 at 8:00 a.m.
December 8 is a holy day of obligation in all Catholic institutions. The pupils were very excited upon entering the chapel to receive their first communion. They were all dressed in white accompanied by their parents in their seats. They were prepared by their class advisers and the religion teacher together with Miss Marilou Tolentino, Coordinator in Religion. This was a very solemn and memorable moment for the pupils knowing that Jesus will be in the heart of each one of them.
The main presider was the Rector and President of the Colegio, Rev. Fr. Tamerlane R. Lana, O.P. With him were the Elementary Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Thomas Lopez Francisco, O.P., Rev. Fr. Orlando Aceron, O.P., the Vice-President for Religious Affairs and Rev. Fr. Juan Ponce, O.P., the Vice-President for Academic Affairs. Fr. Lana emphasized to the communicants the importance of receiving Jesus in their hearts.
After the Mass, the first communicants were given certificates and souvenirs. Everybody was invited by the parents to eat breakfast at the canteen.
