Letran Street Beat: Champion at Seventeen Magazine’s street dance competition
by Madelyn Santos, Nicanor Joseph Nepomuceno, Lawrence Neri

The Letran Street Beat won a street dance competition at Rockwell Tent on July 30. The night belonged to the Knights who beat dance troupes from University of Santo Tomas and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The dancers redeemed themselves after losing their first competition, the “Break It Battle,” at Eastwood Libis.

The group is composed of college students who strutted their stuff of MTV to Usher’s “Yeah” and Joe Budden’s “Pump it up”. Rising star Artstrong was one of the judges.

Seventeen Magazine, which is celebrating its fourth year anniversary, sponsored the competition. The celebration was attended by fashion models like Rissa Samson, Nicolette Belle, Raya Mananquil, Valerie delos Santos, Pia Cabreira, Robby Mananquil, and Corey Wills. A live performance from Parokya ni Edgar spiced up the gathering which was hosted by teen actress Iya Villania and commercial model Alvin Alfonso.
