THE FIRST THREE BATCHES

Catalino Elloso, Pedro Salgado and Regino Cortés were the first batch to profess their simple vows in Sto. Domingo Convent in Quezon City on June 9, 1959 after the closure of Rosaryhill in Hongkong.
Six months after, the second batch composed of Felixberto Bitas and Serafin Sotacio made their simple profession. Both were admitted as cooperator brothers and both left the Order.
The third batch composed of José Tinoko, Orlando Acerón, José Salazar, José Rizal Dimapilis, Romulo Bautista and Luis Almonte professed their simple vows on June 15, 1960. Two of them eventually left the Order and one became a bishop. They are the “golden friars” whose jubilee we celebrate the month of June. (cf. Book of Professions, Vol. I)
