Hearty Congratulations!!!
- To the University of Santo Tomas for successfully hosting the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last November 13, 2009. Some 800 students, faculty and administrators from different universities filled the Medicine Auditorium of the St. Martin de Porres building. It was quite a healthy dialogue and interaction from this top diplomat with the audience. Questions ranged from the political to the personal.
- To Brothers Bienvenido Trinilla, Jr., OP and Nilo Lardizabal, OP for successfully conducting the recollection of the clergy of Marbel, upon the invitation of Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez, DD. The event was held last November 30 to December 1, 2009 at General Santos City. This diocese has been inviting several Dominicans to conduct recollections and talks to some fifty diocesan and religious priests.
- To our three Dominican brothers from Pakistan, Brothers Vernon Anthony Manuel, Naveed Imran Joshua and Shakeel Michael Gill, for their renewal of profession the morning of December 5, 2009. The Brother Provincial presided at the Conventual mass with the members of the community of Santo Domingo Convent and the Dominican Studentate, where the three brothers reside. They are members of the Vicariate of the Queen of China, Taiwan.

- To the Commission on Liturgy and Prayer of the Philippine Province headed by Brother Roland Mactal, OP, for the publication of the Supplement to the Liturgy of the Hours for the Order of Preachers. This will be used mainly by the Dominican Family and even in the Asia-Pacific region. Copies were given during the Christmas Greetings to Provincial last December 22, 2009.
- To Dr. Alfredo P. Co, PhD for being honored with a Feshschrift last December 10, 2009 at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex. It was attended by several professors and students of the University of Santo Tomas, some fathers from the community of St. Thomas and faculty members from the Arts and Letters. The Rector, Brother Rolando Dela Rosa, OP gave some welcome remarks for the honoree. Dr. Co has been an avid lover of the Dominicans and UST, and a professor of Oriental Philosophy to the student-brothers.
- To the University of Santo Tomas for hosting yet another successful “Paskuhan 2009” last December 18, 2009. This annual Christmas event draws students, faculty and friends to the university campus for some Christmas treat, food and presentations. Thomasian Christmas would not be complete without this event.
